Terms and Conditions

We trust that guests will treat Mill Cottage as their ‘home away from home’.

Mill Cottage uses the latest technology ecofriendly Septic waste system. Guests must only use the dishwashing and washing machine products and brands we supply, as products containing bleach and/or chlorine destroy the Septic system balance. For long stays where guests need to replenish, they must replenish the identical product/brand, so as not to disrupt the Septic. Families travelling with babies/young children must not, under any circumstances flush baby wipes or use any bleach/Napisan type cleaning products that flush down the toilet or the kitchen waste. If this proves to be a problem for your family, unfortunately Mill Cottage is not suitable and should not be booked.

Additional guests are not permitted without the prior approval of the owners. The maximum number of guests that can stay at Mill Cottage at any one time, is 6.

Should additional guest/s want to stay after the initial booking is made/paid, please contact us and we will quote the extra daily charge per additional guest/s. Your preferred bedding configurations must be advised 1 week prior to your arrival. Where no preferred bedding configuration is advised and there is a request for additional beds to be made up, a housekeeping call-out fee of $75 applies.

Check out time is strictly 10am

PAYMENT AND BOOKING POLICY

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your booking. Final payment is due one month prior to the check in date. If your booking is made within 30 days of check-in, the full accommodation fee is payable at the time of booking. Payments are made through a secure payment gateway (additional 1% is applied to all credit card transactions) or alternatively, you can opt to make payment via EFT.

TRAVEL DURING COVID-19 EPIDEMIC

Should government restrictions be placed on domestic travel within the region due to Covid-19, Mill Cottage will offer a free change of date for your booking or, provide a full refund.

Mill Cottage - Contactless Check-in

On your date of check in, you will receive a code to the key safe via SMS or email to enable you to travel directly to the property.

Enhanced Cleaning Protocols

Our housekeeper is taking every precaution to ensure that the highest possible hygiene standards are maintained, including disinfecting all frequently touched surfaces: door handles, faucets, appliances, light switches, TV remotes, kitchen surfaces, bedside tables, keys, etc. All bed sheets/towels/bathmats are professionally laundered.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend you purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking to cover costs of cancellation should you encounter unforeseen circumstances.

CANCELLATION, AMENDMENT & REFUND POLICY

As we are a small family run business, our cancellation policy is firm.
If you cancel your booking more than 30 days prior to your check in date, your full deposit is refundable, less a $50 administration fee.
If you cancel or amend your booking less than 30 days prior to your check in date, a cancellation fee equal to 20% of the total booking will be incurred.
If you cancel or modify your booking within 14 days of your check in date, no refund will be issued.

EARLY DEPARTURES

Should guests decide to depart earlier than their scheduled departure date, no refunds will be offered for unused dates.

SECURITY DEPOSIT BOND

Whilst we know you will love and respect our property as much as we do, accidents can happen! Therefore, guests are required to pay a security bond of $500 which will be returned in full when the departure checklist is completed. Mill Cottage reserves the right to retain all or part of the bond for any replacement value of accidental breakages, general damages including due to moved furniture, missing items, additional cleaning/garbage removal as is reasonably required to return the property to its arrival condition.

GUEST CONDUCT

**Guest’ actions, conduct and safety are the responsibility of the guests. The owners of this property do not condone unsafe, irresponsible or illegal actions/behaviour on or off our premises during a stay or, at any other time. A condition of entering and/or staying at this property is that all guests understand and agree to indemnify the owner against any incidents, accidents, loss or injury while within or outside the premises during a stay or, at any other time.

To the extent permitted by law, any monies or other valuables, goods or vehicles that belong to you and brought into the cottage or onto the grounds, remain your responsibility. Mill Cottage is not responsible for their safekeeping.

UNACCOMPAINED MINORS

All guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult such as a parent or guardian. If a guest is found to be under the age of 18 and is not accompanied by an adult, Mill Cottage will immediately cancel the guest booking and no refunds will be issued.

Pets are not permitted.

POOL

The pool is not heated and therefore only suitable for use during warmer months. Guests are not authorized to access the pool equipment area. All guests using the pool, do so at their own risk. You acknowledge that we are not responsible for any accidents or injuries. No glassware is permitted in the pool area. Children must always be supervised.

PARTIES OR FUNCTIONS

Parties and functions are not permitted on the property.

SECURITY & PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Whenever you are absent from the property, please lock and close all windows and doors to maintain security and to prevent water damage from rain. No responsibility is taken for guests’ personal loss of property left on the premises.

LOCKOUTS & LOSS OF KEYS

Lockouts incur a call out fee of $100. Should keys be lost the replacement cost is $200.

ON DEPARTURE:

Before you depart, please ensure all lights and panel heating/air conditioning units are switched off, open fires extinguished and that the house is left neat and tidy. All rubbish must be placed in external garbage/recycle bins (located to the right of the garage). The oven, stove and BBQ must be left as found. Dirty dishes should be washed and put away, or rinsed and placed in the dishwasher. Extra cleaning charges will be deducted from the bond if any of the above conditions are not met.

Please ensure that all doors are locked, and the keys hung on the key board adjacent to the door adjacent to the kitchen. This door is then locked upon exit and the key returned to the key safe.
